Terms of Use

Maiku AI (“Maiku”) is a Windows desktop application and the maiku.app website and services that support it, including accounts, billing and Maiku Cloud. By creating an account, downloading the app or buying a plan, you agree to these terms.

Use Maiku lawfully and in line with the rules that apply to you — including the policies of any employer, school, interviewer or platform you use it with. You are responsible for how you use AI-generated suggestions.

Keep your password secure. Your account is for you alone; don't share it or resell access.

Free is free with your own API key. Pro is a monthly subscription that renews automatically until you cancel. Lifetime is a one-time purchase of Pro features for as long as Maiku operates. Payments are processed by PayPal; prices are shown in USD at checkout.

You can cancel Pro at any time from the Billing page. Cancelling stops future charges and you keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for. If a renewal payment fails, Pro stays active for a short grace period before returning to Free.

If Maiku isn't right for you, email maiku.support@gmail.com within 14 days of your first Pro payment or your Lifetime purchase for a full refund. Refunded purchases return the account to Free. Later Pro renewals aren't refunded, but you can cancel before the next one at any time.

If a payment is reversed through a chargeback, the purchase is cancelled and the account returns to Free.

Pro can be active on 2 computers and Lifetime on 3. You can move your plan to a new computer by signing out or removing an old one from the Devices page; frequent swapping is limited to prevent account sharing.

Maiku Cloud includes 30 hours of transcribed audio per month on Pro and 8 hours on Lifetime, plus answers under a fair-use limit. Allowances reset on the 1st of each month (UTC) and don't roll over. Using Maiku Cloud for anything other than the app's intended use, or trying to bypass limits or licensing, may lead to suspension without refund.

API keys you enter in the desktop app are stored only on your computer. Documents you add stay on your computer. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what passes through Maiku Cloud.

We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to install and use the Maiku AI desktop app according to your plan. You may not copy, modify, redistribute, reverse engineer or circumvent the licensing of current versions of the app, except where the law allows it. Older versions previously published under an open-source license remain available under that license; paid plans, Maiku Cloud and all later versions are covered by these terms.

We work to keep Maiku reliable but can't guarantee uninterrupted service — third-party AI providers, PayPal and internet outages can affect it. We may change features or these terms; material changes that affect paid plans will be announced on maiku.app and in the app before they take effect.

Maiku is provided “as is”. AI suggestions can be wrong or incomplete, and we are not responsible for the outcome of any interview, meeting or decision made using them. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
